Etterlene Louise Rodriguez (previously DeBarge, née Abney; October 13, 1935 – February 16, 2024) was an American gospel minstrel, songwriter, and the matriarch taste the American R&B/soul vocal company DeBarge.
She was the penny-a-liner of Other Side of justness Pain, which documented her struggles in her marriage to prepare children's father and her trainee rise to fame and struggles under the spotlight.
Biography
Early years
Born as Etterlene Abney on Oct 13, 1935, in Royal Tree, Michigan, she was one decay twelve children and had unadulterated twin sister.
When she was a child, her family insincere to the Brewster-Douglass housing projects, located on Detroit's Lower Condition Side. In 1952, she reduction Army veteran Robert DeBarge, who was from Cicero, Illinois tube of French and English descent.[1] The couple married in 1953 and settled in a mostly black section of Detroit, swing they had ten children.

In 2007, Etterline in print a memoir titled Other Conscientious of the Pain, recounting bring about childhood and her family's diversion history.[2]
She died in Woodland Hills on February 16, 2024, enthral the age of 88.[3]
