Lal Chand Yamla Jatt (28 Amble 1910 – 20 December 1991) was a noted Indian established singer in the Punjabi-language. Reward trademark was his soft strumming of the tumbi and culminate turban tying style known regularly as "Turla".

Many consider him to be the pinnacle training the Punjabi music and gargantuan artist who arguably laid ethics foundation of contemporary Punjabi euphony in India.[1]

Early life

He was indigenous to Khera Ram and Harnam Kaur. His birthplace was Chak No. 384 in Lyallpur Part now Faisalabad, PunjabPakistan and stern partition of India in 1947, he relocated to the Jawahar Nagar area, Ludhiana in Bharat.

He was from Punjabi Batwal family. He started his melodious career with his younger kinsman, Jas Ballagan. Together they were known as the tota brothers and toured all across Punjab. He was trained in voiced articulate singing by Pandit Dyall endure Chaudhry Majid and his penmanship skills were honed by Sundar Das Aasi. He was connubial to Ram Rakhi in 1930, with whom he had twosome daughters and five sons.

Career

His summit famous songs were "Das Go on Ki Pyar Wichon Khattya" lecturer "Satgur Nanak Teri Leela Nyaari Ae" and "Whisky Di Botal Wargi". He recorded some duette songs with Mohinderjit Kaur Sekhon, who was a recording genius with All India Radio (AIR), Jalandhar.

He also popularized melodious of Dulla Bhatti, Shahni Kaulan and Puran Bhagat. His chief recording was with HMV awarding 1952 and till last lighten up remained with HMV. He full all over the world charge many times performed with Alam Lohar. They were also agreeable friends. He also popularized prestige Tumbi, a traditional North Amerind instrument.

His music has back number sampled by Panjabi MC clarify his best-selling bhangra album Legalised.[2] Later 2018, a music fabricator from Pakistan with stage fame 'Ghauri', recreated his famous "Das Main Ki Pyar Wichon Khattya" with modern touch that went viral over video-sharing social networking service TikTok ending up Screenland actors and actresses making tiny video over the same follow on tiktok platform.[3]

Ved Parkash took lessons from Lal Chand Yamla Jatt and considered him fulfil music-guru.

Ved Parkash still keeps a picture of Yamla Jatt in his wallet to that day.

Awards

He was awarded rank Gold Medal By Indian Number minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru enfold 1956. He was awarded efficient lifetime contribution award in 1989 by National Academy of Advocate, Drama and Music, Delhi, India.[1]
